Join us upstairs in the MAC’s Patsy Francis Gallery for an evening of unplugged music featuring Donn Legge and Mike Lavoie!

There will be two separate performances during the night, and each set will last about 45 minutes. Find a spot at a cabaret table to listen to a mix of jazz standards and original compositions by both artists. Guests will enjoy a refreshing setting at this “unplugged” performance featuring mainly acoustic sound, without the volume and density often experienced during larger concerts in the MAC Theater. Guests may bring their own beverages and snacks to enjoy in this intimate setting.

Donn Legge, Guitar
Donn is a busy performer on the South Coast of Massachusetts. He can be seen playing with Blues Train, South Coast Jazz Orchestra, Patrice Tiedmann’s Seaglass Theater, Dori Rubbicco, NB Rude Boys, and Kareem Sanjaghi on Cape Cod. While living in Miami Florida for a number of years Donn played with the “Miami Heat Band” in the late ‘80’s and also with Gogi Grant, Rich Little and Trini Lopez. Donn received his bachelor’s degree in music from Westfield State University ‘82 and a Masters in Jazz studies ‘85 from the University of Miami Fl. Donn accepted his first teaching job in Miami in ‘85 and taught full time music in public high schools until ‘00 when he and his family returned to Massachusetts. Donn continued teaching music in the public schools until his retirement last year. Donn was featured in a duo with jazz pianist Matt Richard at the first Unplugged at the MAC in April of 2023.

Mike Lavoie, Bass
Mike is a New Bedford resident and career musician. He has performed regionally at countless festivals and enjoyed a wide variety of live performances. His natural skill in various styles of music, on both electric and acoustic bass, has helped him become a sought-after session/studio musician, freelance bassist and private instructor. As an active educator he has been involved with the Berklee School of Music’s “Summer Guitar Sessions” and numerous clinics on the high school and college level. His general knowledge in his field has prompted contributions on articles for publication and on instrument manufacturing. Mike has performed at private engagements and public concerts in some of our country’s most notable rooms, recording with countless emerging and well-known musicians, and brings an unrivaled level of musicianship to the band. Mike’s a “bass enthusiast” (to say the least). He is currently constructing innovative instruments and designs for retail instruments.
