About Art at the MAC
The Marion Art Center has two floors of gallery space: the Cecil Clark Davis Gallery downstairs and the Patsy Francis Gallery upstairs. The MAC’s Exhibition Committee meets regularly to schedule shows and review proposals. Most exhibitions are scheduled at least six months in advance. The MAC hosts openings for each exhibition and offers opportunities for exhibiting artists to teach workshops or give artist presentations.
Gallery Facts
The MAC’s Cecil Clark Davis Gallery (lower gallery) consists of 420 square feet of wall space and 200 square feet of floor space. The Patsy Francis Gallery (upper gallery) has 300 square feet of wall space and 260 square feet of floor space. The MAC has eleven pedestals available for three-dimensional works. The Exhibitions Committee will also be accepting proposals for rotating outdoor sculpture beginning in Summer 2020.
Member Shows
In addition to our juried exhibits, members are invited to participate in two non-juried exhibitions a year: the Winter Members’ Show and the Summer Members’ Show. Not a MAC member yet? Click here to Join the MAC!

The Marion Art Center announces a call for entries for its final exhibition of the 2024 season, Small Works + Holiday Shop. This annual juried/invitational show features original works of art, all under fourteen inches, plus a curated selection of handmade goods including jewelry, textiles, ceramics, woodworks, gifts, and more. If approved, an artist may submit up to four pieces for exhibition. The number of handmade craft items allowed such as jewelry, apparel, cards, etc. will be determined on a case-by-case basis. To apply to the Small Works + Holiday Shop exhibition, use the form below. All applications are due by Wednesday, October 23. Works should be no larger than 14" in any direction, including frame. Both 2D and 3D works will be accepted. All works must be ready to install (framed, wired, etc.), in good condition, and available for sale. Participating artisans in the Holiday Shop will be required to submit a detailed list of items and prepare all goods with price labels and inventory codes. The MAC retains a 40% commission on all sold artworks and shop items. Artists will be notified by the end of October if they are accepted, and early applications are strongly encouraged. - A one- or two-page artist resume with exhibition history and URL of any website(s)
- A one-paragraph bio and a brief artist statement
