ArtStart is the MAC's summer art program for children aged 4 1/2 to 9 years, offered in June and July.
ArtStart teachers are specialists in music, dance, theater, and art, most of whom teach throughout the year and are professionals in their fields.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT regarding COVID-19: Registration is currently still open for ArtStart. While we don't yet know how our schedule might be impacted, we remain hopeful that we will be able to run our annual summer program for children. We know how much our MAC families look forward to this! In the case of cancellation of any session(s) due to COVID-19, all payments can be held as credit for future programs, given as a 100% tax-deductible donation, or refunded in full.
Activities include arts and crafts, theater, music, games, and storytelling. There is an informal performance at the end of each week’s session, and each child receives two tickets for caregivers or family members to attend. Camps run weekly, from 9:00am‒12:30pm daily, except for July 4. Fridays are performance days, and camp releases at 1:00pm. Campers must bring a bag lunch and water every day. MAC members get early registration beginning in January and receive off a significant discount on ArtStart tuition.* Public online registration begins February 1.
