Spring Arts: Tap Dancing Workshop

Tap Dancing Workshop for Adults
(Teens ages 15+ also welcome)
Thursday, May 11, 6:00-7:30pm

in the MAC’s Anne Braitmayer Webb Theater
$20 per person | Some tap shoes available for borrowing
Capacity: 15 people

Take a tap dancing workshop with MAC Dance Academy’s program leader Teah Keogh. This workshop is for adults who need to tap out of “adulting”! Want more happiness and bit less seriousness added to your week? This one hour tap class provides percussive playtime for adults (and teens ages 15 and up) that “taps” into our inner courage, creativity, and strengthens our physical and mental health.

Tap is a popular style of American theatrical dance which includes percussive footwork with precise rhythmic patterns on the floor. Dancers develop a keen sense of rhythm and balance. This basic level beginner tap class is geared toward those who have had little or no tap training, but will also be fun for anyone who has worn tap shoes before. Light refreshments will be served after the session, and participants will have a chance to mix and mingle. Registrants may bring their own shoes or borrow a previously loved pair from the MAC. Upon registration, we will contact you if your size is no longer available with other options (sneakers or low pumps are fine too!). Comfortable clothing recommended.
