Bring your favorite writing tools (e.g., paper and pen, computer) and be ready for the spark as ideas pop in these creative writing sessions facilitated by Alanna Nelson. Working on the theme of “Beginnings,” you’ll be on your way to creating work to submit to the inaugural community culture review, Sippizine.

Attend any session or join all three!
At the January 25 session, writing prompts will work around the theme “beginnings,” which is the theme of the first Sippizine issue.

On February 11, photographs and exercises will shape the prompts.

On March 4, writing prompts will generate descriptions and create images that build emotion in your writing. This online session will be held via zoom. Registrants will be sent a zoom link one week before this session.

About Sippizine
Sippizine, launching in April 2023, is a community cultural review celebrating the literary and visual arts from our local region and will spotlight writers of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. The semi-annual online publication will feature essays, fiction, poetry, photography, art and video contributions from regional residents (both year round and summer).

Writing prompt sessions in person and via Zoom during winter 2023 can inspire you to contribute to our inaugural issue, with its theme “Beginnings.”

Just in time for South Coast Spring Arts, you’ll be able to peruse Sippizine online or download your own copy to print.
