Description: This class is designed for adults (18 and older) who want an overview of three different styles of dance used in theater: jazz, lyrical and tap. Students will be introduced to the basics of theatrical dance by learning choreography to some Broadway classics. All experience levels are encouraged to join.

About the Instructor: Alex Valentine has studied dance for near 25 years with classes starting at Miss Mary’s School of Dance, Kathy Medina’s Dance Studio and Bridgewater State College. His studies include tap, jazz, gymnastics, ballet, modern, hip hop, Bharatanatyam and ballroom dance. He has also choreographed shows for Attleboro High School and assisted with choreography for community theatre throughout the area. You may have seen him dancing, singing or acting on the stage, as he has been in the local theater community since 1984.

Description: Learn the basics of music reading, including notes and rhythms, using the Harpsicle Harp. Classes will be 45 minutes each with 3 students per class.

Class fee includes all materials, however students must either rent a Harpsicle from the teacher or purchase an instrument of his or her own, available at harpsicleharps.com.  Rental fee is $50 for the entire session (to be paid directly to the instructor), which will end with a performance by students with a special guest harpist sharing the program. About the Instructor:  Frances Belcher has been teaching piano students for many years and has experience with both private and group instruction.  Her education includes a degree in Music Education in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Tennessee with further study at the University of Memphis and at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD.
Frances recently retired from 20 years in Arts Administration where her commitment to the value of music education for all students led her to found and manage a program for after-school string instruction in Baltimore City.  The Bridges Program continues, having served over 1500 students to date, providing lessons, use of an instrument, and orchestral experiences for elementary-aged children.

Description: The MAC hosts one-on-one piano lessons for beginning through intermediate-level students, ages six through adult.  Half-hour lessons will include music theory and improvisation, and students will have preparation and opportunities to perform.  Parents are welcome to observe lessons.  Students must have an instrument to practice on (either traditional piano or keyboard with full-size keys).
