MARION ART CENTER DANCE ACADEMY

MAC Dance Academy is a classically taught dance studio that fosters individuality and fun for little dancers. We are a low-key academy providing extraordinary dance instruction in the areas of ballet, tap, and jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and gymnastics in a safe learning environment.

MAC is thrilled to announce that Teah Keogh (“Miss Teah”) has returned to the area and wants to bring her dance program back! The Spring 2019 program is an eight-week session.   We look forward to having your children in our dance classes!

Teah Keogh Bio

Miss Teah is a classically taught dancer in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and gymnastics. She taught second grade for 8 years and ESL for 2 years in the Old Rochester Regional school district and coached the ORR Dance Team for 2 years. Miss Teah ran MAC Dance Academy for 5 years before her move to Denver. Now she is back! Miss Teah’s goal is to keep the cost of instruction to a minimum and to make the learning valuable and fun!

Spring 2019 Classes

Mondays:

*Classes subject to change or cancellation based on enrollment.

Baby & Me is a half hour of music, movement, exploratory dance and fun for children aged 0-2. Adults attend class as models and participate in the class fully. Each week we will explore either basic tap skills, ballet, and mat tumbling. Ballet and Tap shoes are optional for dancers who want to make “noise,” younger children can explore tummy time or crawl along with the music. This is a free form class where the babies will be the guide. Baby wearing welcome.

Child & Me is a half hour of structured dance instruction. Child & Me is for children aged 2-4 and is structured for the youngster to independently dance with a familiar adult nearby to model. Adult does participate, but children will be exploring ballet, tap, and basic tumbling each week. Ballet slippers and tap shoes are required (for the kids).

Dancers should have long-sleeved, plain, black leotards, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and black tap shoes. A ballet skirt is optional. TAP SHOES: Please replace the ribbon with black elastic to make it easier for the students to change from ballet shoes to tap shoes. We have found that the best places to get dance attire is online at www.discountdance.com or www.dancewearsolutions.com. All That Jazz in Lakeville (508-946-5333), Dancer’s Edge in Taunton (508-822-0011) or Body & Sole Dancewear in Dartmouth (508-999-2003) are all great places locally to get them, too.

Hair should always be pulled up into a low ponytail or bun.

Please note the 8-session dance schedule:

Spring 2019 (Mondays):

We ask that parents wait for their dancer in the waiting area on the first floor. Any cancellations of school for the ORR school district will also result in cancellation of dance classes. If Miss Teah is unable to make a class, there will be a substitute or class will be canceled via email and MAC Dance Academy Facebook Page. Any cancellations will result in a make up class following the completion of the 6-week program (that date will also be emailed). Parent Watch Days and Recitals will not be rescheduled.
