We begin the tour at the Marion Art Center - all of the stops are within the village of Marion.

Diagonally across the street from the Art Center is the Marion Town Hall.  Italianate architecture style building erected in 1875-1876 originally as a classroom building for Tabor Academy.

Right next door to the Town Hall is the Marion Town Library and Museum of Natural History. Constructed in 1871-1872 with funds donated by Elizabeth Taber for the benefit of the town. - shown in right photo

In the center of the village you will find the General Store.  Residents can buy groceries, meat and general merchandise in a building that dates back to 1794.  It was originally built as a Congregational Meeting House.

Directly across Front Street from the General Store is the recently refurbished Town Post Office and the Marion Historical Society.  Village residents all have mail boxes here

Another public building given to the town by Elizabeth Taber.  Built in 1891 it is known as the Music Hall.

On the right is the Soldiers Memorial commemorating the local citizens lost in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.

Directly across from the Music Hall looking east up Front Street toward the busy downtown area reflects a typical summer's day in August.

The Old Town Landing and Veteran's Park at the head of the harbor, honor the town's citizen's who died in World War I & II and the Viet Nam conflict.

Directly across Front Street from the Music Hall is the Town Wharf on beautiful Marion Harbor.  This view is west.

From the Town Wharf looking east towards the harbor entrance and Buzzards Bay, the scenic harbor is a boater's paradise.

Just a block off Front Street is the Beverly Yacht Club. Formerly on this location was the Admiral Harwood House, one of Marion's oldest residences.

At the far east end of Front Street is the Marion Town Beach. The beach is located at the entrance to Marion Harbor.

Just off Front Street near the beach, is the Sippican Tennis Club. Built in 1908 by famed Boston architect, Charles Allerton Coolidge in a "mission revival" style architecture.

Occupying most of the west end of Front Street is the renown Tabor Academy. Founded in 1877 by Elizabeth Taber with an initial enrollment of 21 students. The school was named after Mount Tabor as referenced in the Bible.

There are many other buildings and sites of historical significance to see in Marion.  The purpose of this tour was to provide an overview and encourage the viewer investigate all the interesting places to visit within the Town of Marion, Massachusetts.
